Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold to Launch on December 5 as US Testing Begins

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Nears Launch

Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone is now inches away from its big reveal. The company has started firmware testing for the unlocked Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold in the US. That step signals that the device is close to its December 5 announcement. Moreover, the TriFold is shaping up to be one of Samsung’s most ambitious foldables yet.

Unlocked US Variant Enters Testing

Until now, Samsung was testing only the carrier-locked model, the SM-F968U. However, testing has now started for the unlocked SM-F968U1 variant. This move shows Samsung’s readiness to release both versions together. It also signals that the Galaxy Z TriFold will follow a typical flagship rollout for the US market.

A Limited Launch With a Bold Form Factor

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold will fold twice, offering a tablet-like feel in a compact body. The device is rumored to feature a 10-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover screen. Because of its unique engineering, Samsung plans a limited release initially. The US is the only major Western market confirmed so far.

Why the Late Firmware Testing Matters

Firmware testing this close to launch is unusual for a Galaxy flagship. Still, Samsung seems to be keeping the device tightly controlled. The company may have started internal testing earlier without leaks. Regardless, the latest activity confirms that the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is almost ready for launch.

Fans Prepare for a New Era of Foldables

With its tri-fold design and large screen layout, the TriFold could shift Samsung’s foldable strategy. Users in select markets will soon experience its new form factor. However, the phone will likely carry a premium price due to its engineering and display setup.

As December 5 approaches, excitement around the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold continues to rise. More details should surface soon, but the device has already crossed a major milestone in its road to launch.
